What North (0.0°) means

Every compass degree from 0° to 360° falls into one of 8 directions, each 45° wide, 0° being true North. Your home's orientation is the direction its main wall/entrance faces. In Vastu, each direction is tied to an element and a ruling energy that's considered to favor some activities and work against others.

North is a Water direction, governed by Kubera. It's considered favorable for study, meditation, wealth accumulation, and best avoided for heavy cooking, storing weapons.
